The Moustached Guenon, scientifically known as Cercopithecus cephus, is a captivating primate species belonging to the Old World monkey family, Cercopithecidae. This species is primarily found in the dense rainforests and wooded habitats across Central and West Africa, including countries such as Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and the Congo basin. Its habitat preferences extend to secondary forests and forest edges, where it adeptly navigates the lower and middle canopy layers in search of food and shelter.

Characterized by its striking appearance, the Moustached Guenon has a medium-sized, agile body, with males typically larger than females. Adults usually weigh between 3 to 5 kilograms. The fur coloration varies from a dark grey to a deep blue-grey on the back, while the underparts are lighter, often a vibrant white or yellowish color.
